We are seeking a subject matter expert to join us not as a typical software manager, but as a trusted strategic advisor to our municipal partners across Michigan.
In this role, you will be the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of city, township, and county governments. Your mission is to ensure they achieve their desired outcomes using our solution. You won't be selling software; you will be coaching, guiding, and building partnerships with your former peers. You’ve sat in their chair and faced their budget cycles, operational hurdles, and reporting requirements. This firsthand knowledge is precisely what will make you a credible and invaluable resource.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Strategic Advisor: Act as the primary point of contact and trusted partner for municipal government clients throughout Michigan, leveraging your deep domain expertise to guide them toward their goals.
- Customer Engagement and Training: Train finance directors, operations managers, and their teams on how to best use the platform to solve their real-world challenges. Provide ongoing guidance on best practices for utilizing the platform driving engagement and usage. Develop and deliver customized training sessions to municipal staff and leadership on using the platform effectively.
- Drive Customer Outcomes: Proactively engage with clients to understand their strategic objectives. Conduct regular check-ins and business reviews to ensure they are maximizing the value of the software and achieving measurable results.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders within each municipality, from end-users to department heads.
- Advocate for the Customer: Act as the internal voice of your clients, channeling their feedback to our product and development teams to help shape the future of our platform.
Qualifications:
- Required: Municipal Government Expertise: A minimum of 7+ years of experience working in a Michigan municipal government (city, county, township) with a leadership role such as finance director or deputy, treasurer, city manager, county or township supervisor, etc.. You have firsthand experience with public sector budgeting, procurement, reporting, and operational management.
- Credibility and Empathy: You can instantly connect with public sector professionals because you have lived their reality. You understand their unique pressures, constraints, and motivations.
- Communication Skills: You are an excellent listener, teacher, and communicator, capable of explaining complex topics in a simple, relatable way.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: You enjoy troubleshooting challenges and are passionate about helping people find better ways to work.
- Tech-Curious: You do not need to be a software expert, but you should be comfortable with technology and eager to learn our platform inside and out. Prior experience with data and analytics platforms used in municipal settings (Munetrix, Munis, Cityworks, OpenGov, ClearGov, or similar) is a plus.
- Location: Resident of Michigan with the ability to travel to client sites within the state as needed.
